Thailand week 2

Seven more weeks left and making the best out of it. Well here are some of the adventures I did in the past week. I got a chance to go to the Grand Palace, The reclining Buddha Palace and also checked out Thailand night life. This past week/weekend was rather interesting to say the least.

This is a three piece beautiful sculpture. 

This is made out of popcorn and its used for weddings.

Skin bleaching in Thailand

I am going to be doing a lot of posts that has to with things I am learning/experiencing in Thailand concerning the fashion scene. One thing I have noticed for the past week and half weeks I have been here is that there is a lot of division between Thai people based on fairness of the skin. Usually Light skinned people (who look almost white) are considered rich and the dark skinned ones are considered poor. Skin color even reflects on were people are most likely to find a job. I have a seen a lot of Ads on T.V. that are mostly for bleaching skin, which shows that most women here do not appreciate the beauty of their own skin color. I would love to meet a pretty Thai woman who accepts her skin color the way it is. 

 


These are some of the products that women in the far East use to lighten their skin in trying to be accepted in today's society. There is still a long way to go in teaching women of color to embrace their beautiful skin color instead of damaging it by trying to be something they are not.
